Samsung Appliances We Repair

Samsung Refrigerators

French-door, four-door Flex, side-by-side and bottom-freezer Samsung fridges make up most of our Samsung calls. The classic complaint is a fridge section that slowly warms while the freezer stays cold, which usually traces back to ice building up on the evaporator and blocking the fan. We also replace ice makers, ice room fans, water inlet valves, defrost heaters and sensors, and main control boards. See our Samsung refrigerator repair page for cooling problems in general.

Samsung Washers

Samsung front-loaders and high-efficiency top-loaders tend to come to us with drain faults, door lock failures, loud spinning from worn bearings, or a top-loader that won’t balance. Drain pump filters packed with lint, coins and hair pins are a frequent cause of 5C or 5E codes. We replace pumps, door locks, inlet valves, shock absorbers, suspension rods and control boards. More detail is on our Samsung washer repair page.

Samsung Dryers

Samsung electric dryers are built with sensors that watch temperature and exhaust flow, so a blocked vent often shows up as a code before the clothes start coming out damp. Common repairs are heating elements, thermal fuses, thermistors, belts, idler pulleys and drum rollers. We service electric dryers only; for a gas dryer, contact a licensed gas technician. Visit our Samsung dryer service page.

Samsung Dishwashers and Ranges

Samsung dishwashers usually need drain pumps, leak sensor checks, door latches or a heater. On Samsung electric ranges and slide-ins, we replace bake and broil elements, oven sensors, surface element switches, door locks and touch controls. Our dishwasher repair page covers draining and cleaning issues.

Why Samsung Fridges Ice Up

Many Samsung fridges use separate evaporators for the fridge and freezer sections. When the defrost cycle doesn’t fully clear the fridge evaporator, frost builds up over weeks until the fan blades hit ice, you hear a rattling or buzzing from inside the fresh food compartment, and the fridge stops cooling evenly. A 22E or 22C code often appears at the same time. Samsung’s own guide suggests a manual defrost to clear it, and that does get the fridge cooling again, but the ice usually comes back if a drain heater, sensor or control is at fault. We find out which part is failing so you aren’t defrosting every month.

Samsung Error Codes

Samsung’s support pages explain these codes. Codes vary by model and age, so check your owner’s manual too.

ApplianceCodeWhat it means
RefrigeratorOF OF / O FFCooling Off (demo) mode, not a fault
Refrigerator22E / 22CFridge fan error, often iced over
Washer4C / 4EWater supply problem
Washer5C / 5EDrain problem
DryertO / t0 / tETemperature sensor issue, often from a clogged lint screen or vent
DryerhE / HCOverheating
Dishwasher4C / 4EWater supply problem
Dishwasher5C / 5EDrain problem
Oven and RangeC-d0 †Short in a control key
Oven and RangeC-d1 †Door lock misaligned

For a fridge stuck in “OF OF”, you aren’t dealing with a breakdown: the display is in Cooling Off mode, used in showrooms. Samsung advises against unplugging the fridge unless a code or support guide tells you to.

For more Samsung codes alongside other brands, see our full washer error codes, dryer error codes, dishwasher error codes, oven and range error codes and refrigerator error codes tables, which also list what to try first. Codes marked † come from a manual or parts-supplier listing, so confirm them in your owner’s manual.

Finding Your Samsung Model Number

Samsung model numbers start with two letters that hint at the product: RF or RS for fridges, WF or WA for washers, DV for dryers, DW for dishwashers and NE for electric ranges. Fridge labels are inside on a side wall of the fresh food section, washer and dryer labels around the door opening or on the back, and dishwasher labels on the side edge of the door. Send us a photo of the label when you book.

Samsung Warranty vs. Independent Repair

While your Samsung is under its manufacturer’s warranty, Samsung’s authorized service is usually your best route, since covered parts and labour cost nothing. Once the warranty ends, we’re a quick, local alternative: we often come the same day, we’re on the road until 11 PM, and we quote the price before any work starts.

Pricing, Warranty and Areas

A Samsung diagnostic visit costs $70, and that fee disappears when you approve the repair. Every repair comes with a 3 to 6 month warranty depending on the work. We cover Toronto, North York, Scarborough and Etobicoke, and we accept cash, credit, debit and Interac e-Transfer. Statutory holidays cost the same as any other day.

Samsung Repair FAQ

Why is my Samsung fridge not cooling but the freezer is fine?

Usually the fridge evaporator has iced up and the fan can’t move cold air. You may hear rattling or see a 22E code. A manual defrost restores cooling for a while, but if the ice returns within weeks, a defrost heater, sensor or control needs replacing. Book a visit so we can find the failing part.

What does 4C mean on a Samsung washer?

4C or 4E means the washer isn’t getting enough water. Make sure both taps are fully open, check the fill hoses for kinks, and clean the small mesh filter where the hose connects to the washer. If the code returns with good water pressure, the inlet valve may need replacing.

How do I get my Samsung fridge out of demo mode?

Press and hold the two top buttons on the left side of the display for about five to eight seconds until it chimes, according to Samsung’s guide. The display shows “OF OF” or “O FF” while Cooling Off mode is on. Button names vary by model, so check your manual if this doesn’t work.

Is it worth repairing a Samsung washer that is 8 years old?

Often yes. Drain pumps, door locks, inlet valves and suspension parts are moderate repairs that keep an 8-year-old Samsung running for years. Worn drum bearings on a front-loader cost more, and we’ll tell you honestly when replacing makes more sense than repairing.

Do you repair Samsung gas ranges or dryers?

No. We repair Samsung electric ranges, wall ovens and electric dryers only, and we don’t do any gas appliance work. For a gas Samsung range or dryer, contact a licensed gas technician. If you ever smell gas, leave the home and call your gas utility from outside.
